The body as 
a template, 
a stage, and 
a translator.

I am a fiber and ceramic artist from the Pacific Northwest. My work questions how we find meaning in our lives by exploring existential joy, grief, and anxiety. I use the body to translate emotions into knowable forms. 

The familiarity of clothing allows me to use fit, form, and function to invite the viewer to embody the work. The qualities and narratives of every fiber inform both the shape and feeling of each piece. I use the tactile nature of ceramics to create shapes and develop ideas in spontaneous sculpting. By combining the fluidity of clay and the materiality of fibers, I translate inexpressible ideas into tangible assemblages. My work takes shape where words falter. 

I hold a BA in Philosophy from Colorado College and studied Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni in Florence, Italy.
